Bainbridge Island author Jonathan Evison (All About Lulu, West of Here, and This Is Your Life, Harriet Chance!) will read from 2018's Lawn Boy, a hilarious-depressing novel about a Chicano landscape worker named Mike Muñoz who is desperately searching for a way out of his bleak life. Part of his escape involves writing. He wants to write the great American landscape novel, but he's having trouble finding any recent examples to use as a template. Lawn Boy ends up becoming that example as Evison takes the reader on a journey through the American class system. Evison's apparently real and very deep love of topiary serves as a respite from all the rough stuff Muñoz has to go through. by Rich Smith
