The Committee to Stop Police and End Systemic Racism is celebrating Juneteenth with two events this year!

9am at ILWU local 19 Dispatch Hall located at 3440 E Marginal Way S.
10am we will car caravan to Pier 46 for speakers and music. We have an amazing line of speakers that include  Nikkita Oliver, Executive Director of Creative Justice James Bible, attorney and former President of King County NAACP; Pastor Steve Baber of Washington Christian Leaders Coalition and ILWU Local 19 President Rich Austin. Still Water band will also be performing.

2pm at 1419 24th Ave at the former Central Area home of ILWU legend Frank Jenkins Jr. We will gather to commemorate Frank Jenkins Jr's legacy as a Black longshoreman, Local 19 LRC member and delegate. There will be guest speakers from the UW Labor Studies Department; Cindy Domingo of APALA; LeTania Severe of Labor for Black Lives and Harold Ugles, Committee Member of the Frank Jenkins Jr Fellowship in Labor Studies at UW.

Parking is available for this event until 6pm at Mt Calvary Christian Center at 1412 23rd Ave.

We ask that participants wear masks and use hand sanitizer which will be provided.
