Céline Sciamma, lauded French director of Portrait of a Lady on Fire, continues a pattern of painfully intimate, reflective storytelling in Petite Maman. The film follows eight-year-old Nelly on a journey to the countryside, where her parents plan to settle the affairs of her recently-deceased grandmother.
