TRAIN Module Performancespart of Seattle Festival of Dance + Improvisation
Choreography by Zoe Scofield, Markeith Wiley, Mark Haim, Jaret Hughes and Victoria Watts
Back this year, join us in celebrating the Professional, Open Level, and Dance Fundamental cohort dancers at the culminating performances for the TRAIN Module in SFD+I 2022. This is your chance to experience work by some of Seattle’s most beloved choreographers, cheer on the participants in this year’s festival, and get a peek at dancers who will become mainstays on Seattle’s dance stages. Five local artists have created new pieces with participants over an intensive three-week immersive program, and we can't wait to share them with you.
About the festival:
The Seattle Festival of Dance + Improvisation is a vibrant month-long immersion into the Seattle dance community, and a chance to explore with dance practitioners experimenting at the leading edge of dance technique, creative practices, and dance improvisation. Grounded in SFDI’s nearly 30 years of community-building and intergenerational collaboration, this festival is a gateway for new dancers to connect with artists making work in the Seattle dance and improvisation community, and a chance for Seattle-based artists to train and research with internationally renowned artists.
SFD+I is made possible with generous support from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Seattle Office of Arts and Culture, and the King County Festival and Events Fund. It is also supported by our community of individual donors, community partners, and arts advocates.
