"Buerge, a biographer and a historian to the Duwamish Tribe, will read from "Chief Seattle and the Town that Took His Name." A book more than 20 years in the making, Buerge explores the leader from a variety of sources to reveal an epic character: a warrior, orator, benefactor, and visionary who helped found the city that bears his name. This event is part of the Words, Writers & West Seattle series, which features writers connected to the Duwamish Peninsula, and presented in partnership with the Southwest Seattle Historical Society.
