Japanese Breakfast with Luna Li
Eugene-bred singer-songwriter Michelle Zauner's latest album under her indie-pop moniker Japanese Breakfast, Jubillee, plays with many of the same themes seen in Zauner's debut memoir, Crying in H Mart, which details in part coping with intense grief after the loss of a family member. "Psychopomp was written as her mother underwent cancer treatment, while Soft Sounds From Another Planet took the grief she held from her mother‘s death and used it as a conduit to explore the cosmos," reads public materials. "Now, at the start of a new decade, Japanese Breakfast is ready to fight for happiness, an all-too-scarce resource in our seemingly crumbling world." She'll come to town for a two-night gig with support from dreamy Toronto-based multi-instrumentalist Luna Li.
