The Duende Libre Trio is an uplifting and dynamic power trio featuring longtime collaborators Alex Chadsey (piano, keyboards, compositions), Farko Dosumov (electric bass), and Jeff “Bongo” Busch (drums & percussion). Firmly rooted in the jazz tradition, the Trio has garnered praise for their signature blend of jazz elements with sounds and rhythms from Brazil, Cuba, Turkey, West Africa, and beyond. The band’s two most-recent recordings won Earshot Jazz Golden Ear awards for “Northwest Recording of the Year.”

For this concert, the Trio pays homage to the late jazz master Chick Corea (1941-2021) by performing original interpretations of classic compositions like “Spain” and “Armando’s Rumba” alongside compositions by Chadsey that are inspired and influenced by Chick’s globe-trotting legacy.
