The following description comes from the event organizer.

The Seattle International Dance Festival presents coast-to-coast collaborations of the best in contemporary dance with Seattle-based Khambatta Dance Company (KDC), Newport Contemporary Ballet (NCB) of Rhode Island, and Edmonds-based, Olympic Ballet Theatre (OBT) at the Seventh Annual Winter Mini-Fest.

These artists and companies come together to present four riveting and entertaining performances over two weekends, with new works, world premieres, and multi-company collaborations. This year’s Mini Fest spotlights the artistry of local choreographers, Eva Stone and KDC Director, Cyrus Khambatta, as well as NCB Director, Danielle Genest. OBT will present Ms. Stone’s work for 15 dancers. NCB and KDC worked together throughout the pandemic and are thrilled to present the finale of their four-year collaboration to Seattle audiences for the first time. Festival highlights include OBT’s presentation of pieces by Stone and Khambatta on the first weekend. And, after a week-long residency that mixes KDC and Newport Contemporary Ballet dancers, the newly-formed ensemble will present a brand new piece for the second-weekend finale.
