As of July 20, outdoor concerts and other forms of live entertainment are banned in Washington for the foreseeable future, until the COVID curve is sufficiently flattened. Drive-in movies, however, are still allowed. Though you should still be safe, wear a mask, and maintain social distancing whenever you go out, if you've got access to a car, there are plenty of places to catch a movie in-person this summer. IN SEATTLE

Drive-In Movies at Paseo Past Event List
The Caribbean restaurant's Sodo location will screen classic films outdoors for you to watch while enjoying a tasty sandwich and a cocktail. Come early to get a spot to watch from the patio, or park and order takeout to your car. The ticket price includes $30 to spend inside the restaurant and concessions booth.

EAST OF SEATTLE

Movies at Marymoor Park Past Event List
For the last 16 years, Marymoor Park has been one of Seattle's hottest destinations for outdoor movie viewing. While you won't be able to set up on the grass this year, BECU will keep the tradition going by turning to a drive-in model, screening classic flicks on Wednesday and Thursday nights in July and August. Tickets are $25 per carload, and advance reservations are recommended, as events sell out (August movies go on sale Tuesday, July 21 at 5 pm). There will also be food trucks on-site.

NORTH OF SEATTLE

Blue Fox Drive-In Theatre Remind List
Ninety miles north of Seattle, this outdoor theater (and go-kart destination) screens family-friendly double features on summer weekends. While they usually accept drive-ups, they're currently operating at a reduced capacity and taking reservations only, and they're asking that guests wear a mask when visiting the snack bar. Outside food is not permitted.

Sail-in Cinema Past Event List
Normally you'd be able to watch movies at the Everett Marina from your boat or onshore atop your picnic blanket, but this year has been modified to a drive-in only deal. Park your car in Boxcar Park (is that a song?) every Friday and enjoy free movies and waterfront views—just be sure to register in advance.

Wheel-In Motor Movie Drive-In Past Event List
This Port Townsend theater is celebrating its 68th anniversary this summer! Switch to the FM Dolby Digital Stereo in your car and catch classic films like The Graduate every Friday-Sunday, starting at dusk. In keeping with COVID regulations, they're reducing their capacity to 50% and charging a lower-than-usual carload price, which can be purchased online in advance. They also have pizza, hamburgers, nachos, and other snacks available for purchase onsite.

Every Friday and Saturday, catch new and old flicks like Grease, Rocketman, Charlie’s Angels, and A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood at Burien's outdoor cinema. Admission is first-come, first-served, so get there early! Purchases for tickets and concessions are touchless.

Drive-In Movie At the Fair Past Event List
Get in your car and watch The Goonies, a notable example of Spielberg-style "old-fashioned adventure" cinema, complete with pirates, treasure, and that signature peril-and-fun-in-equal-parts recipe you've come to love. Donations from this free 35th-anniversary screening at the Washington State Fair's Blue Lot will give any donations to the Puyallup Food Bank.

As if Vashon wasn't delightful enough of a day trip, it hosts drive-in movies every Wednesday-Sunday night of the season. Purchase your tickets and concessions in advance and catch classics like Forrest Gump and Casablanca from your car.

Rodeo Drive-In Remind List
For a treat at the end of your road trip to Bremerton, stop by this long-running outdoor theater (which opened in 1949) for screenings of under-the-radar double-features. They have plenty of concessions, like hot dogs, corn dogs, pizza dogs (?), Philly cheesesteaks, and candy for sale onsite. As for tickets, you can buy them online.

Skyline Drive-In Theatre Past Event List
Stake your claim on Friday-Wednesday double-feature screenings of classic films at this Shelton theater, established in 1964, by reserving a spot online. If you don't have an FM receiver in your car (sound is broadcast on 89.1 FM), you can borrow one from the snack bar. In response to COVID-19, they're limiting capacity to 150 vehicles per showing and asking that cars park at least 10 feet away from each other.
